Henriksen joins City on loan

City have secured the services of Hull City midfielder Markus Henriksen on loan for the remainder of the season.

Henriksen is a player of Premier League experience and is a former club captain with the Tigers.

Henriksen, a 27-year-old Norway international, began his career in his home country with Rosenborg (2009-2012) where he twice won the Tippeligaen and Superfinalen. He represented AZ Alkmaar (2012-2017) where he won the KNVB Cup before his move to Hull City.

He has 54 caps for Norway and is in line to represent his country in March’s UEFA Euro 2020 play-offs.

Here's what he told Robins TV:

Speaking of Markus’ loan deal, City Chief Executive Officer Mark Ashton said: “I’m delighted to welcome Markus to Bristol City, and I am very happy to have acquired his signature amid interest from elsewhere.

“He’s a proven midfielder at Championship level and higher so he will be a great benefit to the squad between now and the end of the season.”

City Head Coach Lee Johnson said: “Markus is a great addition to our midfield, someone who gives us further attributes in the middle of the park and I believe he will have an important part to play in these final 18 matches.”
