Hemp departs City Women

Lauren Hemp has joined Manchester City from Bristol City Women.

The award-winning teenager shot to fame in WSL 1 under the guidance of the Vixens coaching team.

She joined the City Women set-up from Norwich in 2016, going on to study at SGS College having broken into the first team.

The 17-year-old forward scored nine times during the 2017/18 season and she also notched up multiple goals during the Spring Series and WSL 2 campaigns respectively.

Her abilities led to accolades off the pitch as she claimed the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year award this season, after being voted the Vauhxall England Young Player of the Year in 2017.

She earned her first England call up at Under-15 level before going on to captain the side at the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship in 2017. Hemp has since gone on to represent the Lionesses at Under-18 and Under-20 level.

The club would like to thank Lauren for her continual effort and wish her well for the future.
