Good afternoon and welcome to our visitors from Derby County for what is a big occasion here at Ashton Gate.
Both teams have been excellent this season, playing exciting brands of football and incorporating a nice blend of young British talent with experienced Championship professionals.
Both clubs are chasing that final top-six spot and there is just one point separating ourselves from Derby County and Middlesbrough.
We’re fighting at the right end of the table with three scheduled games left.
We are going to need you all the way and we fully appreciate the sacrifices that many of you have made throughout the season and will indeed make to travel to the games at Millwall and Hull City to roar the boys on.
I have said it before, but I am genuinely honoured and privileged to work for a great club and with an amazing set of people.
The effort and application of the players and staff this season has been first-class and they have been a pleasure to work alongside.
The club has come so far. We are continuing to build on the foresight of the Lansdown family’s vision and will give everything to realise the dream of top-level football to this fantastic city.
Your club is in great hands and will go from strength to strength in the years to come, of that I have no doubt. We are so powerful when we are as one – board, staff, players and fans.
Today we have a great opportunity to rise to the occasion and step up!
Every voice counts – let’s make it happen.
Enjoy the game.
