The Rotary club of Clevedon Yeo will be collecting donations for Bristol Children’s Hospital before City’s Sky Bet Championship match against Fulham at Ashton Gate tomorrow (3pm).
Rotary is a worldwide organisation with both male and female members. It looks to provide friendship, fellowship and the opportunity to help local communities, either through fundraising or the activities of its members. The Rotary club of Clevedon Yeo was formed in 1991 and has raised thousands of pounds for local charities since that time as well as providing practical help and assistance to others.
Avid Bristol City fan and Rotary member Steve Molloy came up with the idea of fundraising at Ashton Gate after his daughter was nursed back to health in the hospital’s intensive care unit following a bout of meningitis.
Steve commented: "We are grateful again for Bristol City’s generous offer to collect at the Fulham game and ask all fans to dig deep and support this great cause.
“Everyone knows what a fabulous facility like this can do to help sick and vulnerable children so, please help us to help them."
A similar collection at last season’s match with Coventry enabled the Rotary club to donate a cheque for £1,000 – look out for the bucket collectors tomorrow and help save more children in the city.
