Charlie Harris suffered a double leg fracture playing for City Under-23s at Sheffield United yesterday.
The young defender was stretchered off just before the hour mark and tests at a Sheffield hospital have shown up tibia and fibula breaks.
Harris was kept in overnight for further tests, with his family by his side, and will today return to Bristol.
“He’ll go to Southmead Hospital to determine the surgery he requires,” Under-23s physiotherapist Alan McFerran told bcfc.co.uk.
“We can’t thank the Sheffield United club doctor and all the medical staff enough for their support of Charlie.
“Everyone’s well wishes are with Charlie now as he begins his rehabilitation.”
