‘Good to be back’ - Weimann

Andreas Weimann spoke of his delight to be back out on the football pitch as he bagged a hat-trick in Bristol City’s 14-0 victory over Hallen FC.

The Austrian front-man started the annual Bristol City Community Trust game and opened the scoring for Lee Johnson’s side in the third minute.

Weimann doubled his tally when he turned in Jack Hunt’s low cross before a fine solo effort rounded off his hat-trick inside twenty-five minutes.

The forward was happy to be back out on the pitch getting valuable minutes under his belt, while gelling with the new member of the squad.

“It’s nice to be back playing football, we’ve had a tough week of running so it is good to be back out on the pitch and scoring goals, said Weimann.

“It will take a while to get use to playing with the new lads and it was only thirty minutes today, but it’s good to be out here with them and I’m sure we will get to know them more in the next few weeks.

“It’s a great game for the club and the community. It’s good to see the little kids enjoying today, we will happily sign autographs and take pictures because we were in their position when we were younger.”
