City will now meet Barnsley on Good Friday (March 30th 2018) at 3pm – 24 hours earlier than originally planned.
The change to the Oakwell fixture is to give the players additional time to recover for the home game with Brentford on Easter Monday (April 2nd).
City are also set to meet Lee Johnson’s former club in the season opener at Ashton Gate on Saturday, August 5th 2017 (3pm kick-off).
Last season the two Sky Bet Championship encounters between the clubs saw nine goals scored. The encounter at Oakwell ended 2-2, while City were 3-2 victors in April - a game that virtually sealed their survival.
