Joe Bryan says there is always an extra “edge” on a night game at Ashton Gate.
The Bristolian and his team-mates are busy preparing for this evening’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Brentford (7.45pm).
And Bryan is banking on home comforts aiding City’s quest to get back to winning ways.
“It’s an amazing place to play our football,” Bryan told Bristol City Player HD.
“I was speaking to Bobby (Reid) the other day and we were saying we kind of miss the old feel to it, with the East End.
“But it is incredible now; you walk out of that tunnel and the whole place feels like a completely different stadium.
“They worked hard to keep a traditional feel throughout the redevelopment. Then when it’s a night game there just appears to be an extra edge to the crowd.
“I really enjoy playing under the lights and I know the rest of the lads do.”
Of tonight’s opponents, Bryan said: “They’re always a good pressing, passing team.
“Last season we were doing alright against them at home until Freezy (Luke Freeman) karate kicked their centre-half in the face and got sent off!
“In the away match we were 1-0 up and conceded in the last minute, so there’s a bit of a point to prove.”
Tickets will be available on the night for City supporters.
