Gate Guide: FC Twente friendly

City play their final pre-season friendly against Dutch opponents FC Twente at Ashton Gate tonight (Friday, 7.45pm).

Here’s a guide of what to expect if you’re heading to Ashton Gate.

STADIUM

Only the Dolman Stand is open to City supporters, with entrance via the South Stand and Dolman Stand turnstiles.

FC Twente supporters will be housed in the Atyeo Stand.

TICKETS

Just over 3,000 tickets have been sold to date and supporters can still buy in advance online (print at home available).

Supporters will be able to pay on the day but please ARRIVE EARLY to avoid queues at the main ticket office next to the Atyeo statue.

PARKING

Unfortunately due to Upfest taking place across Ashton and at Ashton Gate, parking is extremely limited. Marina Dolman Way is all set up for Upfest, which begins in earnest on Saturday. There is no off-site parking available, so please be responsible when utilising street parking and think about our neighbours.

SPORTS BAR & PIZZERIA

There will be no Fan Village in operation, however, the relaunched Sports Bar & Pizzeria will open its doors to City supporters for the first time.

STORE

The new 2017/18 home strip will be on sale for the first time, with the Store at Ashton Gate open from 9am. Please note, free Under-12 shirts cannot be collected tomorrow – full details available here.

RUCKSAKS

City supporters are advised that large rucksacks will no longer be allowed into Ashton Gate on matchdays.

This follows advice from the National Counter Terrorism Office and Avon and Somerset Police.

Fans will still be able to bring small handbags into the stadium, although these will be subject to the usual search process.

An Ashton Gate spokesman said: “The searching process will always be subject to change and whilst there is no specific threat to any Sports Ground, we must ensure that we remain vigilant and the message to spectators is to ‘Be Alert not Alarmed’.”
