“I’d walk a million miles for one of your goals, John Galley!”
Bristol City 1967-73
198 apps & 92 goals all comps
172 apps & 84 goals in the league
Described by manager Alan Dicks as his best-ever signing, John Galley will be back at Ashton Gate tomorrow.
Born in Midlands and on the books of Wolves as a youth, Galley joined Rotherham United before being snapped up by Dicks.
He scored all three goals at Huddersfield Town on his City debut in December 1967.
Galley's 16 goals in season 1967/68 were a big factor in City's survival. He left City with a goalscoring record of almost 1:2 games to join Nottingham Forest.
He still lives in Nottingham and tries to attend every City/Forest game, including tomorrow's Sky Bet Championship encounter.
Galley will be visiting the Supporters Bar immediately after the game. All fans are welcome!
