City have been crowned EFL Trust Futsal South West League 1 champions.
The City team – made up of a group of second-year post-16 students – topped the local league, clinching the title this week.
The students have all been studying for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport with the club’s Community Trust at Ashton Gate.
Sports lecturer Shaun Mullen said: “Team selection is predominantly based on their performance and commitment to education, so this group has worked extremely hard on and off the court and thoroughly deserve the title win.”
The team has now qualified for the National Finals, which will be held in Birmingham on Wednesday, June 21st against teams from around that country.
Mullen added: “It would be a great conclusion to their two years studying at Ashton Gate if they were able to bring back another piece of silverware to the trophy cabinet!”
The Grand Appeal is gearing up for a bumper summer of fundraising across Bristol and the South West as it marks the 25th Anniversary of the iconic dress-down event, Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day.
