Academy winger Marlee Francois has put pen to paper on his first professional contract.
Francois joined the Robins set-up two years ago following a successful trial period and he has continued to impress while playing for the Under-18s and Under-23s.
The athletic 18-year-old was born in Australia and moved to England aged eight where he joined the Academy at Fulham. He left the West London side’s youth setup at 16 before he was snapped up by the watchful eye of the Robins and later awarded a scholarship.
Now Francois has signed professional terms with City on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Academy Manager Gary Probert said: “I’m very proud for Marlee and his family because he’s absolutely deserving of this contract.
"He has shown fantastic mental strength and determination to want to continue that dream of playing football and we’re delighted with the progress he has made since joining the Academy and what’s to come.”
Player Pathway Manager Brian Tinnion said: “Marlee is another exceptional talent and I’m thrilled for him. He has the qualities of a more direct winger, he’s athletic and full of pace and he’s really exciting to watch so I’m looking forward to seeing what the future brings for him.”
