Four more years for Scott

Bristol City is pleased to announce that Alex Scott has signed a new four-year contract.

Scott, who turns 18 today, has put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at Ashton Gate until the summer of 2025.

The attacking midfielder joined City’s Academy 18 months ago and signed his first professional contract with the Robins back in March.

Fast forward five months and he has hit the ground running in the first-team set-up, starting each of the club’s four 2021/22 Sky Bet Championship games to date.

City Chairman Jon Lansdown commented: “Alex is a real talent and we’ve seen continued progress in his development since his arrival, so for him to commit his long-term future with us is fantastic for everyone.

“He is a well-grounded young man and he is incessantly striving to improve and learn to be the best he can be for both himself and the club.

“We’ve already seen in the start of this campaign the influence he can have on matches - the supporters have certainly taken to him - and we look forward to seeing him develop further in the coming years."

Guernsey FC’s youngest ever senior player at the age of 16, Scott has played for the club at Under-18 and Under-23 level while recently joining the first team group.

Scott has seven appearances in City colours to date.
