Foundation delivers free food and football across Bristol

The Robins foundation have partnered up with Bristol City Council and Fareshare South West to provide free summer holiday camps in areas of deprivation in Bristol for young people on free school meals.

The camps offer young people the opportunity to play football and guarantees a free meal every day they attend the camp. Due to the additional funding received from Bristol Council, has allowed the foundation to set up more camps in 5 different locations across Bristol with staff members and volunteers at each camp.

Not only do these camps help support families who rely on free school meals throughout the summer holidays, but also offers a safe space for children to come and channel their energy into positive activities. All food is freshly prepared in the morning by our chef Andy and a team of volunteers and gets dropped to each camp every before lunchtime.

James Edwards Chief Development Officer at Bristol Robins Foundation says: “We are very delighted to receive this funding which enables us to continue the work that we have been doing for the last 10 years, but on a much bigger scale. The work carried out at these camps will impact more young people in areas of deprivation who are on free school meals to give them sport and positive provision, as well as, providing them with daily food and having the opportunity to engage with them for 4 hours a day.”
