Assistant Head Coach Jamie McAllister says City can use their good form as a catalyst for success against Preston North End this weekend.
City have enjoyed a positive start to the season, entering the end of September unbeaten in the last seven league games.
And in 2019 City have managed 30 points on the road, the most away points of any club across England’s top four leagues.
“It’s a great stat: 30 points from 2019, we’re joint top across all four leagues and I think that’s credit to the lads,” McAllister said.
“Our away form has been excellent and Preston is a tough place to go. We got a point there last time. I remember Antoine (Semenyo) coming on with Fam (Famara Diédhiou) up top and we really caused them problems second half, so we go there full of confidence.
“We want to keep building on our unbeaten run and it’s a tough place to go but we’re due a result up there and we’ll do everything we can to get the three points.”
For City, it’s a second consecutive game against a team who have enjoyed a good start in the Sky Bet Championship. Last time out was a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Swansea City, while third-placed Preston host Saturday’s fixture.
McAllister said: “Yes it was a tough game against Swansea. They’re a good side, they’ve started very well as have we and it’s the same as Preston.
“It was a tight game on Saturday, not much between the two teams, we cancelled each other out and we go to Deepdale expecting the same – two good teams in form, a point between the teams, so it’s all to play for.”
Tickets will go off sale, Friday, September 27th at 2pm.
