Aden Flint knows what he wants for Christmas – goals!
The City defender has only netted once this season, grabbing the final goal in the 4-0 victory at Fulham in September.
In 2014/15 Flint hit headlines by scoring 15 goals in the double-winning campaign, before notching six times in his maiden season in the Championship.
“I think I’ve forgotten what it feels like to score,” Flint told Bristol City Player HD.
History could be on his side this weekend as Ipswich Town visit Ashton Gate.
The Tractor Boys were the opposition for Lee Johnson’s first game in charge back in February, where Flint provided a brace of headed goals in a 2-1 success.
“It would be nice to just score one this weekend,” the 6ft 5in centre-half added.
“I think because of the recent seasons I do put pressure on myself to score goals. I go up for corners and free kicks looking to get myself in the right position, but I’ve either been heading them over or wide.
“The most important thing is that we win though. That’s the main objective for us right now.
“We need to start putting a run together.”
He added: “Ipswich had a great result against QPR last weekend and they’ll probably come to Ashton Gate high on confidence.
“They’ll want to continue their good run and we want to get back on track, so it’s got the makings of a good game.”
Tickets for the match remain on general sale, with a crowd in excess of 18,000 anticipated. Call 0117 963 0600 to book, or buy online.
