An injury to Frank Fielding could see the City keeper ruled out until October.
Fielding has suffered a hip flexor injury and did not take part in the squad's warm weather training camp in Marbella.
Max O'Leary played all 90 minutes against AFC Bournemouth in tonight's 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth, with Jojo Wollacott kept fresh on the bench.
Speaking after the match, City head coach Lee Johnson told bcfc.co.uk, "Frankie will be out for a while. He’s parted the muscle from the ligament on his hip flexor.
"It’s one of those injuries which could settle but he’ll be out for more than six weeks. We’ll probably be without him for up to 12 weeks."
Joe Bryan also suffered a knock in Friday night's match against the Cherries and he was forced off shortly into the second half.
"We hope he won’t be too bad after tonight but he will be assessed," Johnson said.
Jens Hegeler, Taylor Moore and summer signing Hakeeb Adelakun also remain sidelined through respective injuries, while skipper Bailey Wright looks set to recover from a minor thigh strain.
