Fielding and Wright back in the mix

City pair Frank Fielding and Bailey Wright are edging closer to full recovery.

City pair Frank Fielding and Bailey Wright are edging closer to full recovery.

The pair have returned to training and assistant head coach Dean Holden says their involvement in the camp has been "a big boost."

City have been preparing for their home clash with Sheffield Wednesday this Sunday (1.30pm).

Holden said: "They have just joined us back in training so it’s a big boost to have two big characters back in training.

"Both suffered through tough times through injury this season but it's great to have them back. They’re big characters, big players for Bristol City."

And while there remain "one or two niggles", Holden offered a further update on the other City players missing first-team action.

Eros Pisano (thigh) is back running, Mo Eisa and Hakeeb Adelakun (both ankle) are also back on the grass. and Tomas Kalas (fractured jaw) is doing “light work”.

Korey Smith (knee) is off crutches and remains the only long-term injury.
