Aaron Wilbraham hopes familiar opposition can inspire Bristol City to a first home win of the season against former club MK Dons on Saturday.
Skipper Wilbraham has led a young side into a new division, where several good performances have not been rewarded by victories.
But the striker, who served the Dons for five-and-a-half years, believes coming up against a team City beat last season should stand them in good stead at Ashton Gate.
“They play good football and we had a couple of good games against them last year – a couple of close encounters – so I’m sure it’ll be a good game again on Saturday,” Wilbraham told Bristol City Player HD.
“I think it helps when you get used to playing against teams and we’ve obviously been up against this opposition before, so we do know a bit more about them than the other teams in the league.
“I was glad they came up with us. The chairman (Pete Winkelman) deserved it – he’s a great guy and I know him quite well.
“We’ve been playing some good football in games but not getting the points that we need to climb up that table.
“We’ve got to make sure we take the points home at the end of the day and not just settle for good performances.
“It’s a big game but every game is a big game. We’ll be looking to play the way we know we can play at home, start the game well and get all three points.”
