Gemma Evans has been named in Gemma Grainger’s first squad as Wales Manager as they gear up for international fixtures against Canada and Denmark.
Grainger’s reign will get underway against Canada at the Leckwith Stadium on Friday, April 9th (6pm KO), whilst the match at Denmark will take place at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, April 13th (7.15pm KO). Both matches will be available to watch on the BBC Sport website and iPlayer.
Evans has been instrumental in Bristol City Women’s turn in form in recent months and demonstrated her leadership qualities as stand-in captain for Jasmine Matthews.
The centre-back also netted a crucial goal against Tottenham Hotspur, which earned the Robins a valuable league point on the road at the Hive.
Bristol City Women Assistant Coach, Loren Dykes will also be involved in April’s camp forming part of the national team’s backroom staff for the two games.
Two losing bonus-points ensured that the Bears will return to Sandy Park for an Allianz Premier 15s semi-final against the Chiefs, after a blistering contest in the Devon sunshine.
