City Women can confirm midfielder Charlie Estcourt will return to the club on loan from Reading for the upcoming WSL 1 season.
Estcourt, 19, will enjoy her second spell with the Vixens after previously arriving in 2016 for a short loan period.
The young midfielder started her career at Reading, initially representing the club’s Academy, before moving to play for Chelsea at Under-15 level.
She eventually went onto represent Chelsea Ladies Reserves before returning to Reading and signing her first professional contract.
Estcourt is also part of the Wales set up – she made her first appearance for Wales’ Under-16s at just 13, before captaining the Under-17s at the Euros in 2013 and 2014.
In 2015, Charlie won her first five senior Wales caps, and was named as the Welsh FA’s Young Player of the Year.
On her return, Estcourt is excited to run out at the Stoke Gifford Stadium once again.
She said: “It’s great to be back here, I loved my time here in 2016 and I can’t wait to get going again.
“We were competing for the WSL 2 title before and I’m glad promotion was achieved and this club is back where it belongs. Now I’m ready to give my all for the club and develop further under the guidance of Willie and his coaching team.”
Willie Kirk believes Estcourt will be a useful acquisition to the club once again.
The City Women manager said: “Charlie brings bags of energy and is a really exciting addition to the squad we have for this season. She adds very good competition to a crucial area of the pitch for us, and I’m sure will make a big contribution this season.
“For such a young player she has a huge amount of experience at international level and I’m looking forward to overseeing her development this season."
Chris Vui and Charles Piutau were in action in the opening round of the Pacific Nations Cup, with Tonga beaten by Fiji and Samoa edging out Australia A.
