Eros Pisano has become the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
The Italian arrives on a free transfer and has agreed a two-year deal at Ashton Gate from July 1st.
Pisano has spent his entire professional career in his homeland to date – so for fans who want to know a little more about the defender, here’s a handy guide.
EROS PISANO
Born: March 31st 1987 (age 30).
Place of Birth: Busto Arsizio, Italy – in the province of Varese.
Position: Right-back.
Previous professional clubs: Varese, Pisa (loan), Palermo, Genoa (loan), Verona (loan), Verona.
Career totals: 359 appearances, 29 goals.
European football: Pisano played in the UEFA Europa League in 2011 with Palermo, but they exited the competition in the third preliminary round after being beaten on away goals by Swiss club Thun.
International football: Italy U20 Serie C, one cap in 2006.
Highest transfer fee paid: €1.85m by Palermo in 2011.
Honours: Serie D champions (2006), Lega Pro Seconda Divisione champions (2009), Serie B winners (2014), runners-up (2017).
Did you know: Pisano’s first game in Serie A came with Palermo in June 2011 as they recorded an impressive 4-3 victory over Inter Milan.
