Gustav Engvall is in line to tackle England as the Under-21 European Championships kick-off in Poland this afternoon (5pm UK time).
The City striker, currently on loan at Djurgarden, is in the squad for Sweden, who are reigning champions heading into the tournament.
Sweden have been drawn in Group A with England, Slovakia and hosts Poland.
They will play the opening match of the tournament against England in Kielce, which will be screened live on Sky Sports.
Engvall will be hoping to take his league form into the competition, having scored six times in 12 games for Djurgarden.
In the England camp will be former City loanee Tammy Abraham, the Chelsea hotshot who bagged 26 goals for Lee Johnson’s side last season.
Sweden face Poland next on June 19th, before finishing their group games against Slovakia on June 22nd.
Only the team that finishes top of the group is guaranteed to progress, although the best of the three runners-up will also make the semi-final stage.
