Gustav Engvall is set to rejoin Swedish club Djurgarden on loan for the remainder of the Allsvenskan campaign.
The 21-year-old was left out of the squad for tonight’s Carabao Cup first round tie following renewed interest from the Swedish club.
Engvall scored seven times for Djurgarden in a prolific spell earlier this year.
Assistant head coach Jamie McAllister told BCTV: “Gustav is close to going back to Djurgarden on loan.
“We didn’t play him tonight because we didn’t want to risk an injury with that deal on the cards.
“Gustav is still only young and did fantastically well in the first half of the season for Djurgarden. Now he’ll want to produce similar quality for the remaining games of the campaign.”
