Engvall poised for Poland test

Gustav Engvall could feature for Sweden in their UEFA European Under-21 Championship group match against Poland tonight (7.45pm).

The 21-year-old, currently on loan at Swedish club Djurgarden, played the first hour in their opening fixture against England Under-21s on Friday, which ended goalless.

Meanwhile, tournament hosts Poland suffered a 2-1 defeat to their Slovakia counterparts and subsequently sit bottom of Group A.

Sweden’s final group encounter will be played on June 22nd against Slovakia in Lublin. Only the team that finishes top of the group is guaranteed to progress, although the best of the three runners-up will also make the semi-final stage.
