Eliasson starts as City ring the changes

Niclas Eliasson makes his second start for City as Premier League Stoke City come to Ashton Gate in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The Swedish youngster scored in City's second round success at Watford and comes into the team as one of nine changes made by head coach Lee Johnson.

Only Aden Flint and Marlon Pack retain their place in the team.

Luke Steele makes his first appearance for the club since his deadline day move from Panathinaikos.

Famara Diedhiou and Matty Taylor will lead the attack.

City: Steele, Vyner, Flint, Hegeler, Magnusson, Eliasson, Pack, Brownhill, O'Dowda, Diedhiou, Taylor. Subs: Fielding, Bryan, Kelly, Baker, Wright, K.Smith, Reid.

Stoke City: Grant, Wimmer, Zouma, Martins Indi, Johnson, Fletcher, Adam, Tymon, Choupo-Moting, Sobhi, Crouch. Subs: Butland, Pieters, Allen, Biram Diouf, Shaqiri, Berahino, Jese.

Referee: Mr G Eltringham.
