Joel Ekstrand has left Ashton Gate after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
The Swedish international defender joined the club on a free transfer back in September.
However, the 27-year-old struggled with injury and illness, leading him to make just two appearances.
By ending his contract before the 11pm transfer deadline, Ekstrand is now free to agree a deal with another club outside of the window this season.
