Djuric Undergoes Double Hernia Surgery

Milan Djuric has undergone a double hernia operation, meaning he will be sidelined for between three and six weeks.

The Bosnian striker went under the knife this week after a scan revealed an operation would be needed to cure his injury.

It also means Gustav Engvall’s proposed loan move back to Sweden is off.

Head coach Lee Johnson said: "The best case scenario will be three weeks, but it will more likely be four or five weeks.

“He’s had the operation now and is recovering. Hopefully it’ll be nearer three weeks than six weeks that he is unavailable.”

On Engvall, Johnson added: "I feel sorry for Gustav. He was not getting enough game time here and is keen to play for Sweden in the European Under-21 Championships this summer and the Scandinavian window was still open.

"We've been talking about it for a while, but his chances have been affected by two injuries, one to Tammy Abraham and the other to Milan Djuric.

"He has been in and out of Sweden trying to set up this loan move but he is now coming back to us."

Meanwhile, Mark Little has returned to training after recovering from his hamstring injury.
