Lee Johnson has provided an update on his squad's injuries ahead of the Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Striker Milan Djuric has been out since pre-season after a recurring groin injury but is edging closer to a return.
He underwent surgery in August and has been praised by Johnson as he nears potential first-team football once more.
And he may well feature in some capacity against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, the head coach has teased.
Johnson told BCTV: "He's looked good. I love Milan but I don't think as a Bristol City group people appreciate his strength because they haven't seen enough of it yet.
"He has strength and is an old-fashioned target man who has a good level of mobility. He is a winner with intense character. Unfortunately he's had his injuries but we hope to get a run out of him at training sessions.
"He will be involved [on Tuesday] yes. Obviously I have a few injury problems because while I have good names on paper, they are not good names at the moment because there is something wrong with them."
On Korey Smith (hamstring), Johnson said he would look to play him "if it was a cup final" meaning he is likely to be rested a little while longer. Jamie Paterson (illness) returned to Failand for training on Monday and may feature on Tuesday but the cup contest will come too soon for Nathan Baker (knee).
Can City make it three wins from three against Premier League opponents in the cup?
