Famara Diédhiou is being lined up for his City debut in Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Yeovil Town.
The club’s £5.3m record signing from Angers arrived in Bristol on Sunday to meet supporters at the annual Community Match.
On Monday he was put through rigorous fitness testing at Failand and although he will travel with his new team-mates to Bath City’s Twerton Park this evening, he won’t feature on the pitch.
BCTV was given exclusive access to his first training session - watch video footage at the bottom of this page.
Head coach Lee Johnson said: “We’ve given Famara a series of tests: jump, agility, speed and lung capacity tests.
“If all goes well this week and we feel he’s in good shape, Saturday against Yeovil Town will likely be his first appearance.”
Saturday’s match will be pay on the day for visiting fans at Huish Park, although fans can save queuing at the turnstiles by purchasing in advance.
Simply call Yeovil’s ticket office direct on 01935 847888 to book.
Tickets are priced as follows: Adults - £8, Senior Citizens/Aged 16-21 - £4, Under-16s – Free
