Jay Dasilva was a late second-half substitute but could do little to stop England U20s from slipping to defeat.
Paul Simpson's young Lions were beaten 3-1 this evening against Netherlands U20s, who struck without reply after initially going 1-0 down.
Dasilva, on loan from Chelsea, replaced Leeds United's Tom Pearce in the 84th minute.
City's Lloyd Kelly was not involved in the Euro Elite League fixture.
Elsewhere, Tomas Kalas was substituted at the start of the second half in Czech Republic's 5-1 defeat to Russia.
