Jay Dasilva secured all three points for City at the bet365 Stadium when his left-footed effort found the top corner in the 84th-minute.
The full-back popped up late on with his second career goal to ensure City returned to winning way on Good Friday.
When asked whether it was a shot or cross, Dasilva said: “I’m going to say a bit of both to be honest. The keeper didn’t watch the eyes - that’s what I am saying.
“I think even if I got the cross perfect there were two players free in the middle which more than likely would have been a goal but I’ll take it.”
The full-back also praised the travelling support as 750 City fans made the journey to the bet365 Stadium.
“Shoutout to them (the fans) they were great all game, they were really loud for us,” he continued, “that makes it worthwhile travelling all this way and getting the win.”
Dasilva also heaped praised on her fellow defenders and goalkeeper Dan Bentley, who return to the West Country with their clean sheet intact.
The Robins' next home game sees them host Sheffield United at Ashton Gate on Monday, April 18th (5:30pm).
Season Tickets are now available for renewal for the 2022/23 season.
Existing Season Ticket holders can go online to secure their seat for next season from Monday, with phone renewals starting the following week from April 11th.
