Cundy is a Robin

City have signed centre-back Robbie Cundy on a two-year contract, with the option of a further year.

Cundy, 21, arrives from local side Bath City, where he played a vital part in securing the Vanarama National League South 2018/19 play-offs alongside fellow City youngsters James Morton and Freddie Hinds.

Cundy was ever present for the Romans as he made 48 appearances in all competitions and scored six goals. His efforts were duly noted as he swept home at the end of season awards, picking up the Supporters’ Player of the Year, Players’ Player and Manager’s Player of the Year awards.

City Chief Executive Mark Ashton said: “Robbie is an exciting young talent and I’m delighted he has signed for Bristol City Football Club.

“I am sure he will continue to flourish under the guidance of our dynamic coaching and performance staff.”

Cundy’s career began in Aston Villa’s youth setup before he moved to join Oxford United’s Academy. He spent loan spells at Daventry Town, Chesham United, Gloucester City, Oxford City and Southport.

He joined Gloucester City permanently in the summer of 2017, moving to Bath City a year later.
