Steve Cotterill is happy with his side’s performances despite losses in the first two games.
City suffered defeat on the opening day against Sheffield Wednesday, and were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Luton Town.
However, City’s manager isn’t downbeat with his team’s displays and feels a win isn’t far away.
“I’m more than happy with the way we’re playing,” he told Bristol City Player HD.
“We’ve gone and dominated two games and it’s also happened in the past where we’ve done that and lost.
“If we can play as well as we have done in those two games then hopefully that win won’t be too far around the corner.”
Ashton Gate hosts its first Sky Bet Championship match of the season tomorrow when City host Brentford (3pm).
The Bees surprised many last term by reaching the play-offs, but Cotterill doesn’t expect them to be as unpredictable this time round.
He said: “We have a good idea of their team. I don’t think it’ll be too difficult to predict them.
“If you make 11 changes in midweek (the 4-0 loss to Oxford United), you pretty much know there is 11 of them coming back in.
“The manager (Marinus Dijkhuizen) is still looking at them and getting the lads how he wants them to play.”
Joe Bryan could be in contention after injuring his knee at Hillsborough, but Frank Fielding is ruled out with a shoulder injury.
