Corinne Yorston Moves To Yeovil

Bristol Academy WFC have announced that the club captain Corinne Yorston will be moving on to play for Yeovil for the 2015 season.

Corinne has played at the club from 2005 until 2009 before leaving to play for Arsenal, returning to captain the Vixens 2010, the inaugural year of the FA Women’s Super League.

Dave Edmondson said, “I am disappointed to be losing Corrinne, she has been a valuable member of BAWFC, both on and off the pitch for a number of years. She is a big character and will be missed.

“At this stage of her career, a new challenge at Yeovil is what she feels she needs and we support her in the move although I believe she could have continued to play at WSL 1 level.”

Over the years Corinne has been at the club, she has proved a valuable squad member for the Vixens, leading Bristol Academy to two FA Cup finals in 2011 and 2013.

Speaking about her move Corinne said “It has, without question been one of, if not the hardest decision of my life to leave Bristol Academy WFC. I have had 8 amazing years at the club, and have so many memories that will stay with me forever.

“Memories not only on the pitch with my teammates, but so many off it - Bristol Academy has been such a huge part of my life for so long. I will never forget and would like to say a huge thank you to all of the amazing supporters, coaches, staff and everyone associated with the club for all they have done for me.

“Finally, but most importantly I'd like to thank the girls, whom I owe so much to, it has been absolute honour to have led them out as captain on so many occasions. I will miss every single one of them. I'm leaving Bristol very sad but very proud of everything I have achieved there. But now I'm very excited to start this next chapter of my life with Yeovil Town LFC.”
