Jonny Smith has been rewarded with a one-year contract extension, tying him to the club until 2021.
The news comes as the 22-year-old winger joins Sky Bet League Two side Oldham Athletic on a season-long loan.
Smith signed for City from Wrexham in 2016 and following a brief loan spell at Cheltenham Town, he went on to enjoy a successful 2017/18 campaign on loan at AFC Fylde, where Smith scored 10 goals in all competitions as the Coasters battled for the play-offs in the Vanarama National League.
Smith spent last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers, who he helped gain promotion via the Sky Bet League Two play-off final and he will now continue his development with Oldham.
Elsewhere, defender Tom Harrison has joined Gloucester City on a one-month loan.
