Bristol City Community Trust welcomed participants from a range of their programmes to take part in a day of footballing fun on the pitch at Ashton Gate stadium as part of Bristol Sport Foundation’s annual Celebration of Sport Week.

The day saw a range of different footballing activities take place on the pitch including: the regional finals of multiple different primary school and girls football tournaments, walking football fixtures, disability and Key Stage One fun football sessions, as well as the final of the prestigious Woodcock Shield.

Overall the day saw in excess of 650 Trust participants taking to the pitch at Ashton Gate and getting involved in the action.

Primary Stars Lead coach at the Community Trust and coordinator of the day, James Howiantz, said, “It is brilliant to be able to offer so many young people the opportunity to play football in this fabulous stadium.”

“The day is a great chance for us to bring together, and showcase the work that we do within the community.”
