Trust students cruise to victory in the final of the EFL Trust National Futsal championship.
Students from Bristol City Community Trust’s BTEC Level 3 in sport programme yesterday (May 22nd) headed to England football team’s training ground, St Georges Park, to compete in the national final of the EFL Trust’s Futsal Championship.
City faced familiar opponents in the form of Lincoln FC - a side who had narrowly beaten City to the league title just a few weeks earlier.
However, there was no sign of a hangover from this, as the City team enjoyed the majority of possession in the first half of the match. The Robins made this possession count with some clinical finishing and were able to take a 5-0 lead into half time.
Despite trailing, Lincoln were by no means out of the fixture and emerged from the half time interval with renewed confidence and energy.
Just seconds after the restart the Imps managed to find the back of the net to make the scoreline 5-1.
The Robins however did not let this shake them and quickly refound their first half form, playing some very nice attacking futsal.
The match finished with a comfortable scoreline of 10-1 in favour of the Bristol City side.
The Trust's boys futsal team were also in action at St Georges Park the previous day (May 21st) for their national futsal semi final fixture. Despite an excellent team performance, the boys were narrowly defeated.
