Coaching team shown new training facility

Bristol City’s new coaching team have had a busy week at the club’s Failand training ground.

Head Coach Dean Holden and new assistant head coaches Paul Simpson and Keith Downing have been putting the squad through their paces following their unveiling on Monday.

And just a Nathan Baker clearance away from the existing pitches they were also shown around the club’s new state-of-the-art training facility, as it begins to take shape.

They were joined by City Chief Executive Officer Mark Ashton and Chairman Jon Lansdown to view the site that will bring together the club’s Academy and senior team for the first time. The facility will include a floodlit showpitch, capable of hosting the club’s Under-18 and Under-23 matches, two other full-size pitches and two further training areas.

The building will encompass a gym, changing rooms, medical, rehabilitation and performance facilities and office space, as well as education and welfare facilities for City’s young players.

With a completion date of Spring 2021 the training ground is constructed by locally-based Beard Construction.
