Bristol City Women have signed former Vixen Rhian Cleverly on a short-term deal.
The Wales international progressed through SGS College’s Centre of Excellence and made her senior debut under Mark Sampson’s stewardship.
Cleverly returns to City while she takes a break from studying a major in Psychology at Hofstra University in the United States.
"We have signed Rhian to give us short term defensive cover throughout July,” boss Willie Kirk said.
"This is on the back of injuries to Ellie Wilson and Hayley Ladd that have taken longer to rehabilitate than first expected.
"Rhian knows the club very well having come through our player pathway before moving to the college system in the US.
"She was training with us during her time back home so it seemed sensible to sign her and utilise her whilst here."
The 21-year-old becomes boss Willie Kirk’s third signing in a week following the arrivals of Claire Emslie and Charlie Estcourt, and goes straight into the squad for City’s match against Sheffield FC Ladies on Saturday (6pm).
The Vixens head to Yorkshire on the back of a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
Kirk's were pegged back twice by the Villans but remain in second place in WSL2 two points behind leaders Yeovil Town having played a game more.
