The Robins will kick-off their 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign at home to the current League One Champions Coventry City.
Ashton Gate plays host to the opening fixture on Saturday, September 12th, before Dean Holden’s squad head to Stoke City, seven days later.
The opening month will also see City come up against Sheffield Wednesday in BS3, while the opening four rounds of the Carabao Cup take place in September, with the Robins hosting Exeter City at the first stage.
Due to the unprecedented challenges facing the fixture calendar as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and starting six weeks later than usual, the Sky Bet Championship features 13 midweek match rounds, with City’s first one coming at home against Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough in October.
The first much-anticipated Severnside derby of the season will be held at the Cardiff City Stadium in November, with the return fixture in February.
On Boxing Day City will take on Championship new boys Wycombe Wanderers at Ashton Gate before travelling to Brentford’s new home on New Year’s Day – in what is a reverse fixture from the 2019/20 season.
The scheduled campaign will then conclude at home on Saturday, May 8th against Brentford.
The season will culminate in the Sky Bet Play-Off Finals taking place at Wembley Stadium over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend May 29th-31st, 2021.
