Bristol City Women are the new FA WSL Development League Cup winners after a resounding 4-0 victory over their Arsenal counterparts at St George’s Park.
A one-sided final was as good as over by half-time, with all four goals scored in the first period.
Aimee Palmer’s stunning long-range effort set the tone after ten minutes, while Katie Jones headed City’s second from a well-worked set-piece.
Paige Sawyer immediately made it 3-0 as the Vixens regained possession from the Arsenal kick-off, before Lauren Hemp drilled a low shot into the bottom corner to complete the scoring on the stroke of half-time.
City Women also defeated London Bees, Oxford United and most notably Liverpool in an epic semi-final en route to the trophy.
