City will have to wait on the fitness of Aston Villa loanee Nathan Baker.
The central defender limped out of the midweek 1-1 draw at Preston North End after just 12 minutes.
That owed to a back injury sustained during a tackle.
Manager Steve Cotterill told Bristol City Player HD: “There’s a not lot more I can say at this stage. We didn’t get back until 3am after Preston and the boys were off yesterday (Wednesday).
“It’s one that we’re going to have to assess in the lead up to the game. However, I thought Derrick Williams did superbly well when he came on against Preston, so if Nathan is fit then I have a big selection to make.”
Wes Burns, meanwhile, should be available again after a thigh injury.
“He’s a lot better,” added Cotterill. “It was my call not to risk him at Preston, when he probably could have been involved.
“I remember during my playing days when I had a slight thigh problem and then it turned into a torn muscle and that was me out for four months. We didn’t want that to happen to Wes.”
