Bristol City have joined fellow stars from the world of sport and entertainment in ‘using their heads’ to raise money and awareness for dementia research.
First team players have joined their Bristol Rugby and Gloucestershire Cricket counterparts, as well as TV presenter and model Nell McAndrew in donning a #UseYourHead head band to support the campaign.
The famous names will be joined by thousands of members of the public all sharing selfies of themselves via social media wearing the charity headbands during September’s World Alzheimer’s Month.
The campaign has been launched by Bristol-based Alzheimer’s and dementia research charity BRACE.
Find out more about the campaign here.
BRACE supports a number of research teams in Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire (UWE), Devon and South Wales.
Dementia affects one in 20 of the over-65s and one in five of the over-80s but it should not be thought of as a normal part of ageing.
