Bristol City were a trending topic worldwide for the second time in a month during last night's tie.
Among those commenting on City's performance were Gary Lineker, Kyle Walker and City fan Mark Watson:

Well, now I really have seen it all. Pick that one out, Attenborough. And thanks @bcfctweets - this has been something to remember for a long time. pic.twitter.com/OxHgwPieGv

A truly uplifting experience following @bcfctweets in the @Carabao_Cup. Ultimately the journey ends at the hands of a greater, supremely talented opponent but football is about hope and glory. Never did they give their fans a reason to lose hope.

Whilst self-confessed City goal gif fan Benjamin Mendy commented:
Congrats @bcfctweets for the game, tough team !! Hope to see you guys in PL next year 🤙🏾 #deserved

Soccer Saturday reporter Michelle Owen covered Pep Guardiola's post-match thoughts on Bristol City:
Pep Guardiola said #bristolcity are there in terms of the Premier League, they have the quality in terms of manager and player. Lee Johnson said he wouldn't single anyone out conceding just before HT, there were opportunities to clear the ball. Also said very proud of the club.

And finally, there was a lot of online reaction to Aden Flint's brief meeting with Man City manager Guardiola:
You've got your chance to speak to Pep Guardiola, one of the greatest managers in the history of football, and you can ask him anything.

So Aden Flint asked him why he'd removed the Stone Island badge from his coat. pic.twitter.com/178LSUEZ2f
Asked pep to swap his stone island jacket for my shirt.. he declined. 😔☹️😂 pic.twitter.com/PLwTwvzg1M
