City’s home pre-season friendly will be against Dutch club FC Twente.
The fixture will be played at Ashton Gate on Friday, July 28th (7.45pm), just eight days before the big season kicks-off against Barnsley at Ashton Gate.
Head coach Lee Johnson said: “It’s an exciting game to have in the lead up to the new season.
“It also gives our supporters the chance to watch the team in action at Ashton Gate before the new season begins.”
Twente won the Eredivisie crown in 2010, pipping the last Dutch team to visit Ashton Gate, Ajax, by a single point.
They have previously competed in the Champions League and Europa League, and were twice managed by ex-England boss and City midfielder Steve McClaren.
Managed by Rene Hake, FC Twente finished seventh in the Eredivisie last season.
Ticketing information will be released in due course.
