City To Face UCAM On Friday

Bristol City will face local opponents UCAM in La Manga on Friday (11am local time).

Lee Johnson’s men were due to play the United Arab Emirates national team at the same venue, but the fixture has now been replaced.

UCAM, which stands for Universidad Catolica de Murcia, have just won promotion to Spain’s second tier for the first time in their history, beating Real Madrid’s B-team en route to play-off glory.

Founded in 1999, the club was reformed in 2011 as the university took over its ownership. They have now climbed four divisions in 11 years.

UCAM are based within 50 miles of City’s training base in South East Spain and play their home games at La Condomina – an ancient stadium housed by Real Murcia until 2006.

Entry will be free for supporters at the La Manga base.

Meanwhile, tomorrow’s open training session will begin at 11am, also at La Manga. Johnson will hold a Q&A session with supporters after the session.
