A recent survey has shown Bristol City are the sixth most ‘local’ club in the country – and the second highest placed team in the top two divisions.
Sky Sports calculated the direct mileage between club stadiums and birthplaces for all players in England's top four tiers who have played 90 league minutes or more this season.
City’s current squad were born an average 97 miles away from Ashton Gate – a reflection of City’s predominantly English squad and the continuing presence of Bristol players such as Joe Bryan and Bobby Reid.
The most ‘local club’ in the country is AFC Wimbledon (55 miles), while Premier league giants Manchester City prop up the table with a squad who were born, on average, 3089.9 miles from the Etihad Stadium.
