✍️ City sign Sykes

Mark Sykes has joined the Robins on a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old, who arrives as a free agent having departed Oxford United at the end of the season, has signed a three-year contract in BS3, with the option of a further 12 months.

The midfielder racked up 45 appearances for the League One club in the last campaign, contributing to 16 goals with eight goals and eight assists.

After joining Oxford United in January 2019 from Glenavon, Sykes went on to make over 100 appearances for the U's, showing his versatility in midfield and wing-back.

Speaking to Robins TV about joining the club and it's impressive facilities at Ashton Gate and the Robins High Performance Centre, Sykes said: "I'm delighted, I came over last week and met the manager, everything was positive. I've always wanted to play in the Championship and the manager was honest with me - he told me he would give me a chance here at the club so hopefully things keep moving in the right direction.

"It's unbelievable here to be honest, I've only been at two clubs so I don't have vast experience at training grounds but from what I can see here it's unbelievable. It's top-class, no complaints.

"My priority is to have a good pre-season and get myself in the team. I want to hit the ground running."
