Bristol City have completed the signing of Lens and England Under-19 defender Taylor Moore for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old centre-half has passed a medical and put pen to paper on a three-year contract at Ashton Gate.
Head coach Lee Johnson said: “This again shows our desire to bring in top-quality young talent.
“Taylor has captained England Under-19s, which is one of the golden age groups for the current England crop.
“He’s very intelligent, has excellent potential. There aren’t many young, English centre-halves around as good as he is, so we’re delighted to have secured his services.”
Chief operating officer Mark Ashton said: “It’s already been a very busy transfer window and Taylor’s arrival is another positive step for us. We’re delighted to welcome him to the club from Lens.
“We still feel we have work to do in this window and everyone at the club is working hard behind the scenes to get business done between now and next Wednesday.”
Moore was born in East London and spent a year with West Ham United’s much-heralded Academy before moving to France.
Whilst playing at amateur club Etaples at the age of 12, he was spotted by the Lens and brought into their Academy setup.
He featured internationally for England at Under-17 and Under-18 before making his debut for Lens in May 2015. Since then he has played for and captained his country’s Under-19 team, featuring alongside City’s Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham.
